LAQUA COLLECTION

LAQUA Collection is an Italian collection of boutique hotels created by Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Cinzia Primatesta. Founded in 2021, it brings together five intimate, independently run properties across some of Italy’s most authentic destinations: Lake Orta in Piedmont, the Monferrato hills, the Tuscan countryside near Pisa, and the Sorrento Peninsula in Campania. Every location is roughly an hour from major cities and airports.

Each property has its own distinct identity, shaped by its surrounding territory, yet all share the same clear vision: authentic hospitality that brings together design, nature, fine dining, wellness and local experiences.

LAQUA Collection comprises five boutique hotels stretching from the south to the north of Italy:

Across the collection, each restaurant interprets Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo’s culinary philosophy through the work of its Head Chefs and a deep connection to local produce and traditions.

The collection’s Michelin-starred restaurants currently include Cannavacciuolo by the Lake, Cannavacciuolo Le Cattedrali, Cannavacciuolo Vineyard and Cannavacciuolo Countryside, each awarded one Michelin Star. The only property without an in-house restaurant is LAQUA by the Sea, though its guests can take the complimentary shuttle to LAQUA Countryside, just 20 minutes away.

LAQUA Collection was born in 2021 from the shared vision of Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Cinzia Primatesta, with the goal of bringing their personal idea of hospitality — authentic, meticulously detailed and deeply rooted in local territory — to destinations across Italy.

The story of LAQUA, however, reaches back even further. In 2012, Antonino and Cinzia had already created Laqua Charme & Boutique in Meta di Sorrento, an intimate retreat conceived as a place to rediscover time, balance and wellbeing in close contact with nature. In 2021, this experience evolved into a true collection, which has since expanded across Piedmont, Campania and Tuscany.

The bond with Chef Cannavacciuolo, then, goes beyond the kitchen. LAQUA was born from the meeting of two complementary visions: Antonino’s, deeply tied to cooking, quality ingredients and the celebration of Italian tradition, and Cinzia’s, drawing on her strong background and sensibility in hospitality, wellness and guest care. It is precisely this complementarity that has helped shape the collection’s identity.

Antonino’s philosophy comes through in the care given to the cuisine, the relationships with local producers, and the desire to tell the story of each destination through its flavors. At the same time, LAQUA’s hospitality is rooted in attentiveness to guest wellbeing, personalized experiences, design, and a deep connection with nature and place. As Cinzia Primatesta has described it, every detail — from the welcome to the rooms, from the dining journey to the wellness experiences — is designed to leave guests with a truly memorable impression.

Each property in the Collection nonetheless retains its own distinct identity. For this reason, LAQUA Collection is more than simply a group of hotels tied to a chef’s name — it represents Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Cinzia Primatesta’s vision of contemporary Italian hospitality: intimate places where cuisine, nature, design, wellness and territory come together to create an authentic, memorable experience.
